Our History

Murdoch Jones Realty is a name that is synonymous with real estate in the South Eastern suburbs of Perth in Western Australia.

The company was founded by Allan Murdoch in 1989 in Thornlie and was launched as Allan Murdoch First National. Allan brought to the company an extensive knowledge of the real estate industry having practised in both Queensland and New South Wales since 1971. He embraced the WA real estate scene and was instrumental in bringing auctions to prominence here after conducting numerous auctions in the Eastern states.

At the height of Allan Murdoch First Nationals success the company employed 24 staff and occupied premises in both Thornlie and Kelmscott. The company won numerous National Real Estate awards whilst a member of the First National Real Estate Group, culminating in the highest REIWA award in 1998 for the most listings in the state, won by the Sales Manager of the Thornlie office, John Edwards.

Debbie Jones (Allan’s daughter) attained her licence in 1997 with a view to being the licensee of the Kelmscott branch, while Gary Jones (her husband) was the Sales Manager at the Kelmscott office for two years.

The company underwent a rebrand in 2000 when Allan Murdoch retired and the business moved to Forrestdale and now Serpentine where it still operates today known as Murdoch Jones Realty. Current staff include the Licensee Debbie Jones and Sales Representatives Gary Jones, Kevin Regan and Stephanie Griffiths (Gary and Debbie’s daughter).
